Free Tips & Easy "How to" Instructions
There comes a time in most relationships where you want to do, or give that special someone in your life a little something just to let them know you appreciate all those things they do for you. However, you can't come up with the perfect thing. You don't want to do or give the same thing as last time and just want to mix it up a little, catch them off guard.

Perhaps some of these inexpensive, yet timeless ideas can help you out:
There are many ways to take this idea to new levels of creativity. First, decide (or find out) what his/her favorite kind of cookies are. Cut the cookies into the shape of a heart, decorate with frosting and candy, and wrap with a cute ribbon. You could even cut the cookies into the shape of a key and attach a note telling them that they hold the key to your heart. It may sound cheesy, but it is sweet nonetheless. Not a great cook? Don't worry. For just some pocket change you can pick up a mix in the baking aisle of your grocery store, or try this: Recipe for delicious chocolate chip cookies
I'm sure you all remember making them for Mother's or Father's Day as a child, but this one would be a little different. Instead of offering to do the dishes (although that would still be a great idea), you can include coupons for a romantic massage, candlelit dinner, a detailed car wash, or a picnic in the park. Make the coupon book extra special by thinking of what your partner likes to do.
Create a simple scrapbook of some of your most memorable times together. A small 8" x 8" book, that doesn't have to be more than 8-10 pages long-enough pages to include every major event, but not so long that it takes an hour to browse through. If you feel you're creative side is your weakest, small scrapbook kits can be purchased at many stores for very little money. However, you can also make one out of some cardstock and cute stickers. Either way, be sure to pick some great pictures, include a few ticket stubs if you have them, and write small notes throughout telling them how much each event means to you.
Remember those mixed tapes that were so popular in the early 90's? Well, how about making a mixed CD or DVD? You can make a music CD with your sweetie's favorite songs and one or two that reminds you of them. Or you can make a DVD by creating a slideshow of pictures and adding music to it. There are many software programs that make this process super simple.
Write a poem or make a greeting card. You can use the computer, or construction paper, crayons and markers. Tell you love how you feel about them, how much you admire them, or the things you cherish about your memories with them. If you are a good writer, you can write a nice poem.
Have a little more money to spend? That's great, but remember that sentimentality is something you can't buy. So how about these great ideas...
Have a favorite picture of the two of you enlarged and framed. Or, if you two have never had a really nice photo taken, go to a studio. Many photography studios routinely send out coupons for small packages, and all you need is one great shot!
A gift basket is also a great idea. No, not the type you pick out off the shelf at a store. Be creative picking out the basket. Does your man need a new toolbox? Use that as the basket. Is your gal really into potted plants? Use a flowerpot. You can add love notes, homemade chocolate-covered strawberries, and a handmade card along with the goodies you find at the store.
Have matching shirts made. You can put a picture of the two of you on T-shirts, print an inside joke, or have your names embroidered with his and her designs. Then go on a trip or out to the park wearing the matching shirts.
Get a personalized keychain. You can have a message engraved on a heart-shaped mirror keychain or have a keychain made with a picture of the two of you.
One timeless piece is a heart-shaped locket. Get a nice locket and put in a nice picture of you on one side and a nice picture of them on the other. Whenever they open up the heart, they can think of the love that you share. You can also have the heart engraved.
Whatever you chose to do for your loved one, he or she will definitely appreciate the love you spent showing them how much you care. Your only boundaries are your imagination!
